Anthony Lomangino is an experienced CEO whose strategic vision, leadership and financial acumen are the foundation for building and leading highly successful organizations. His career spans retail, residential and commercial environmental services companies, material recycling facilities and real estate investments.
A graduate of St. John’s University, Lomangino holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He has a proven track record of building strong cultures and guiding organizations into top ranking market positions. With a focus on the environment and sustainability he has been a pioneer and innovator of processes and technology that have advanced the recycling of waste throughout his career.
Lomangino was Co-Founder and Chairman of Southern Waste Systems and Sun Recycling. Beginning with one operation, he transformed the company into a full-service vertically integrated solid waste management organization. Sun operations grew to 14 recycling facilities located throughout Southeast Florida and became the industry’s largest privately held recycling company producing record level waste diversion numbers. The companies were acquired by Waste Management in January 2016.
Anthony has served throughout his career in many leadership positions in his industry, including serving on the board of the National Construction Materials Recycling Association. In addition to a number of Waste Advisory Boards over his career, he was honored to hold a seat by Congressional appointment on the Railroad-Shipper Transportation Advisory Council of the National Surface Transportation Board in Washington D.C.
He is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, awarded by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations. Lomangino is a member of the inaugural class of the National C&D Recycling Hall of Fame, presented by the National Construction and Demolition Recycling Association and a recipient of the 2013 Northwood University Outstanding Business Leader Award.
Currently as Chairman of L2G Holdings Lomangino oversees a group that includes environmental services operations, recycling facilities, real estate holdings and retail operations.
