Mr. Cassin lives in Portland, Oregon and serves as Waste Management's M&A manager for the Western U.S. and Canada. Mr. Cassin has over 35 years’ experience in the solid waste industry and has completed over 400 M&A transactions. His responsibilities include company valuations, acquisitions, divestitures, contract negotiations, real estate transactions and 3rd party disposal opportunities. He began his career with Browning-Ferris Industries (BFI) in 1984 after receiving his degree in Business Administration and Marketing from California State University Long Beach. In 1993, Mr. Cassin joined Sanifill, Inc. as their Business Development Manager. Sanifill was a new start-up company specializing in solid waste management that eventually went public and was traded on the NYSE. Through a series of mergers, Mr. Cassin was promoted to his current position with Waste Management. Mr. Cassin’s tenure has provided him with extensive experience in all aspects of the solid waste handling and disposal industry.
Mr. Cassin has been married for 25 years and has one child. In addition to his day job at Waste Management, he is active with the Oregon Angel Fund and Portland Start-up Camp. His hobbies include farming, assisting others with building their businesses, community fund raising, adventure motorcycling and family outings.
