John McNamara is a managing director and head of Stifel’s environmental services investment banking practice. Over his 20-plus-year career, he has focused on advising private and public industry leaders in the waste and recycling industry. His strategic and capital markets advisory experience includes mergers and acquisitions (M&A), public offerings and equity and debt private placements.

McNamara joined Stifel in July 2006 as a member of the middle-market M&A group, with a focus on sell-side advisory transactions. Before joining Stifel, he worked in the financial planning and analysis department at Constellation Energy Group.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Loyola University Maryland, where he serves on the alumni association advisory board. He is a 2023 recipient of Waste360’s 40 Under 40 award and a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
