Mr. Sergeant is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s New York office, where he co-heads the firm’s Industrial Services practice and leads the firm’s Environmental Services practice, covering companies offering essential services that keep their customers environmentally compliant, operating efficiently and safely, and focused on sustainability initiatives. Mr. Sergeant has robust transaction experience with a large number of leading Environmental Services companies, including Clean Harbors, Covanta Energy, Darling Ingredients, Hydrochem, Safety-Kleen, Terrapure, Tervita, US Ecology, Waste Connections, and Waste Management, as well as many high-quality privately held businesses and financial sponsors. Previously, Mr. Sergeant was a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group, focusing almost exclusively on executing M&A transactions. Since joining Houlihan Lokey, he has successfully completed approximately 100 M&A, financing, and restructuring transactions across a variety of business sectors, including more than 50 in the Environmental Services sector. Mr. Sergeant received his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Bucknell University and graduated Beta Gamma Sigma from Columbia Business School. Mr. Sergeant is passionate about the environment and protecting it. He has dedicated his career to working with companies that test, clean, remediate, collect, transport, recycle, treat, and dispose a variety of waste. He frequently speaks at events on the topics of sustainability and the environment, and is actively involved in several organizations dedicated to building parks and keeping our oceans clean.
